You have made a list of topics that are related to your niche, identify search terms which are three words that are known as a long tail and lesser than two words also called short tail keywords.
Which keywords are preferred whether it is a long tail or short tail?
Short tail or single word keywords doesn’t exactly help you understand what exactly people are trying to find but long tail keywords make it clear for you to understand their intention so that you can answer them with your blog

How to Research Keywords for Your SEO
Right keywords are the foundation to your blog because if you’re choosing wrong keywords will misguide the visitors for your blog in return your blog will lose ranking.
In order to research keywords you require two important things:
- Google Trends
- Google Adwords (How to use Google Keyword Planner)
- Google Search Engine
Before you research on any keyword, you need to know the trend of that topic because if no one is searching for them then your effort will be wasted.
So you have to start with Google trends which are explained in below steps and images:
Login to google webmaster blog, a page will launch as below:
By default you will see trending topics so presently it is showing us Mothers Day 2018, and I have already posted a blog about Mothers Day Gift that I am working for an event on Mothers day 2018
I searched for “Mothers Day 2018” to know the trend with demographic
So the result is clear that this query is coming from UK, Ireland, Australia followed with other countries
Also, this blog is providing us with an additional search query like best mothers day gifts and etc.,
So the first step is over and we know that trending topic with demographic and related query
In the next step, we will go to Google Adwords to for additional information.
You need to click on tools in the main menu and select keyword planner
Once you have selected Keyword planner you have to enter the query, if you want keywords from the top ranking blog then enter blog address, select product category, enter targeting.
Also, customize your search with keyword filters like average monthly searches, suggested bid, competition (personally I will avoid choosing competition because this is meant for advertisers) also you will get a better idea by keeping it blank
Once you have entered all the details and hit get ideas button.
You will see below screen which is providing you information about keywords, monthly searches, suggested bid and keyword search volume
Now that you have a list of keywords with its volume and other details so we shall move to next step
Copy any of these keywords and try searching them in Google Search Engine
Note that minimum search of >200 per month is required to start with targeted traffic, also when you are working long tail keywords search engine will rank your blog for other related keywords so this will increase traffic to your blog
From the above image, we can see that mothers day 2018 best gifts have more than one crore results but when you search the same keywords within a double quote.
You will less than 8 matching results, which is good opportunity to start working on this keyword.
Implement these keywords at the beginning of your blog or blog title followed by power and emotional words which helps the person try clicking on your web link that is appearing on the first page of Google, Bing.
Come up with detailed article exactly related to the query and add them to the right places in your article so that it goes with an flow and should not seem that you have stuffed them.
Also, include LSI keywords which are provided by the search engine as below
You are still not done, so once you are ready with your article login to your google analytics account and select the account (website i.d)
Then you will be able to see information when users visit, as below:
So this is a great piece of information because it is helping us know the right time to post our new articles, so in my, case the right time and day would be Tuesday and posting time would be around 4:00 p.m
Because we are able to a see a dark spot which means an increased number of visitors at this time.
